Starting up the north fork Mountaineering Route
Heading up the drainage to Lower Boy Scout Lake
The ledges, photo taken from stading in what would have been the waterfall. We obviously skip this part of the summer MR.
Sunset over the needles from LBSL. I was suffering from altitude and the climb up the wash so we set up camp here for the night.
Matt and Matt melting snow for dinner
The next morning from LBSL
Getting started just before 9AM at LBSL

From the notch, facing west. Ready to hack up to the summit

The North Fork valley we ascended. That little white line at the bottom is the road we hiked in on the previous day.
Other group we summited right behind which left Iceburg Lake at 8AM! Now they are cooking up snow - by the lightnight rods - as the weather is turning; proving once again, any idiot can walk up a big hill
Looking down our descent chute, you can see another climber we passed on the way up in the notch below
Matt leads the way down
Taking a jog from the notch to Iceburg
Finally back at camp at 4:50. The peak whited out for a while and it was snowing on us.
Pack up, head out and try to make the Portal by dark.
The tree at the ledges. We made it back to the car below the switchback on the road by just before 8PM. What a day!
